Fiber is necessary for digestive health. A food that lists a named fiber source, such as “beet pulp” or “pumpkin,” is higher quality than a food that lists “corn husks” or “wood pulp.” Corn husks are a filler. Beet pulp is a prebiotic that supports gut health.
